NextGIS will participate in the project of United Nations Development Program, Global Environmental Facility and Ministry of Nature Resources and Ecology of Russia “Improving the Coverage and Management Efficiency of Protected Areas in the Steppe Biome of Russia” (more). NextGIS will lead a part of the project titled: “Developing GIS-based interactive maps territory control system for pilot steppe reserves” for Chernye Zemli, Orenburgsky, Tsentralno-Chernozemny and Daursky Reserves (more in Russian).
To begin, NextGIS specialists took part in scientific/practical conference “Regimes of protected natural areas“, devoted to 130th anniversary of professor V.V. Alekhin in Kursk, Jan 15-18, 2012 г. You can read oppinions and get presentation at GIS-Lab Blog.
Besides, we have already developed a structurized list of PA problems that can be solved with GIS. You can read the document at GIS-Lab (in Russian), it is also planned for more formal publication.
