NextGIS has carried out external training for specialists of ANO NIPI Cadaster (Yaroslavl).
Brief program:

- Introduction to ArcGIS
- Applications of GIS
- Working with remote sensing data
- Working with 3D data
- Introduction to opensource GIS
The training consisted of introductory lectures, demonstrations and practical assignments.

Two webmap applications that were developed by NextGIS and Korus Consulting can now be found at the websites of Ministry of Energy and Situational Analytical Center of Ministry of Energy.
First map is used to visualize gasoline price dynamics across regions of Russia.

The second map is used to locate emergency situations such as breakdowns, natural disasters and such also across regions of Russia. By clicking on the location it is possible to get official information on the situation.

NextGIS has completed a project to create a first stage of geographic information system to monitor forest plots certified by Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
The objective of the project entitled “Facilitating monitoring of large forestry enterprises in Russia using remote sensing data” was to collect information and build tools for effective data analysis. The project was carried out by NextGIS and Biodiversity Conservation Center under collaboration with FSC Russia and financial support from Embassy of Netherlands’ MATRA program.
Main results:
- Geospatial data was created for 70 out of 123 certified forest plots
- New free and opensource software to detect changes on certified areas using remote sensing data
- New free and opensource software for quick statistics generation
- Change analysis for 20 plots to detect forest logging and fires during the lease period
- Analysis of forest management data for administrative regions of Russia available via web (forest plans and forest regulations)
